Bible Ministry 2010
Just as the donkey carries a cross we too have our own
crosses to bear, some heavier than others. Looking
further one might also notice that the cross upon the
donkey marks the exact center of his being. I
believe this is to be a sign for us. When we place
Christ in the center of our lives he is faithful to
carry our burdens if only we would turn them over to
him. In a town called Bethlehem a donkey such as
this carried the word in. Later he carried the
word to Calvary and now he has carried it to many of
you. If you have received a Bible at a donkey
show, special event, occasion, or from someone who
picked one up just for you, know that a special prayer
has been said each day on your behalf. You
can find the number of your Bible listed below along
with the daily prayer that goes out for you.
You may also email me with any special prayer requests
and I will add them to my personal prayer list. I
would be glad to post any requests if you so desire.
DAILY PRAYER:
The
prayer goes something like this: Lord I pray that those
who were faithful to your call and have received one of
the Bibles listed below will hunger for the revelation
knowledge of you which comes through your Word. I
ask Lord that they will desire to have a closer
relationship with you. Bless their home with
peace, joy, hope, etc. Protect their family from
the hand of Satan. Lord I pray too that you will
heal them of any physical, emotional, and/or financial
problems that they may be encountering. Show
them that your word will reveal to them the true purpose
for their life. Pour out upon them special
blessings that they may share their joy with others so
that all might see Jesus in them.
WHO IS
JESUS?
To
learn about the loving kindness of this most
extraordinary man, God's son, you should begin reading
in the book of John. Once you understand who he is
you may want to except his gift of eternal life.
As you read the following scriptures the Lord will
reveal to you how you may receive salvation through
grace.
John
14:6
Romans 10:9-11
2Corinthians 5:15
Revelations 3: 20
BIBLES BY
NUMBER:
YEAR 2010
To date we have now passed out 1400 Bibles
July 3rd: This year we decided to cancel
our plans and allow the Lord to direct our path.
Instead of traveling to Shelbyville we decided to stay
closer to home and share the Word with those in our
community. We could not have had a better day.
The sun was out with a little breeze to help ward off
the heat. It was the perfect day for a Fourth of
July Parade. We felt so welcomed by Mrs. Baker the
Crab Orchard Parade host and were given a front of the
line position which was wonderful for our little Moses
who finds it hard to keep up with his long legged equine
friends who tend to take up the rear. As always we
came prepared to distribute God's Word. Cookies
were prepared, Bibles were stickered, brochures folded,
bookmarks cut and most importantly prayers were prayed
that those who would accept our gifts would be blessed.
Life has so many distractions, hurdles, heart breaks,
financial struggles, etc. Often we find ourselves
looking for peace but yet we don't know where to find
it. Truthfully, it is found right within the pages
of the Bible. I encourage you to look no further,
seek no more but instead read and put into practice the
Word that the Lord God has left for us as a gift that we
might be set free from the bondage of sin enabling us to
enjoy all that the Lord has provided. From
experience I have found that when we seek joy through
our own means we somehow seem disappointed. I
cannot explain how it feels to be obedient to the Lord
and receive his blessings. There is a feeling of
absolute fulfillment. I challenge you to try it.
Choose a scripture and put it into practice, be patient,
and enjoy the blessings of the Lord. You, too,
will understand why we love to share God's Word with all
that will receive it. May God Bless You!!!
"His
lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant;
you were faithful over a few things, I will make you
ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your
lord.’"
Matthew 25: 21(NKJV)
July 14th:
This
was a special opportunity to share our little donkey and
God's Word with His precious children. I am so
thankful and blessed to have had the chance to meet all
the wonderful boys at the Sunrise Children's Home.
I pray that the Lord will guide their path, open their
minds, and allow them to dream big dreams that unfold
into reality. I pray that they will each open
their hearts to the Truth of your Word and the knowledge
of who you are and walk in faith as they accept your
gift of salvation and seek to live a righteous life.
"And the effect of righteousness will be peace [internal
and external], and the result of righteousness will be
quietness and confident trust forever.
Isaiah 32: 17
July 23-24th:
Each year I eagerly await my trip to the Breyerfest.
During this time I am always amazed at how God can use
the simple things in life like a little black donkey
named Moses to touch the lives of others. Within the
text of this book is: the answer to many of life's
questions, the directions for living a fulfilled life
full of purpose, the way to financial peace, the ability
to live contently, ..., and most of all the ability to
first love yourself for who you are and to then love
others as he has called us to do. Through him we
can forgive and be forgiven. I pray that this book
will allow you to live a life free of guilt, remorse,
unforgiving, criticism, fear...
Through Christ you can live free, loved, and joyful.
This is what he wants for you. His Word will teach
you how to achieve all of this. He is not
concerned with your past but rather focuses on your
future. Colossians 1:11-14
May you be strengthened with all power, according
to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience
with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified
you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and
transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in
whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
September 24th:
When I think of the
Apple Festival it reminds me of the story or Adam and
Eve. So often we are temped by those who are
around us or by our own desires to seek after that which
we do not need. We can be driven by what others
have or say and find ourselves lost, hurting, ashamed,
disappointed ... When we seek the things of God we
never turn up empty but rather fulfilled. No! Life
is not always easy even for those who place the Lord
first in their life. The difference is for those
who believe they have the assurance of knowing that
there are better days awaiting them. I pray today
that no matter where you are or what you are facing that
you will seek to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
I pray that you will have the opportunity to experience
his Grace, forgiveness, and a peace that surpasses all
understanding. He can be your rock when you need
something to stand on. He is the one who can
comfort you through the storms and steady you along
life's bumpy path way. Hold fast to this
scripture. Psalms
62:5 "My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope
is from Him."
October 2nd: When I think of a Parade it
makes me think of the Lord and his triumphant entry into
Jerusalem where he was hailed as king and then rejected
by those he had helped and befriended. What mental
anguish He must have felt. We have all sought the
acceptance of others just to find out that is was
temporary, and dependent on our performance, status,
wealth, possessions etc. I have found comfort in
knowing that where God is concerned I am special no
matter my circumstances . In fact I meant so much
to the Lord that he laid his life down just for me.
When you truly embrace this and accept this truth it is
life changing. You'll find a new sense of purpose
and gain adoration from the One who will never leave you
nor forsake you. You are His glorious creation and
He so desires to have a relationship with you. He
rejoices in your successes and lifts you up in in
your failures. He is a true friend one you can
count on for He is the same yesterday, today and always.
His loves endures forever. I pray that you will
embrace this concept and when you are feeling alone,
unimportant, and rejected know that he is with you
always. Matthew
28:20 ". . I am with you always, even to the ends of the
earth."
December 3rd:
Christmas has become a time for giving and receiving
gifts. We spend hours wondering what we should
give and whether is will be good enough. If we
look to Christ for gift giving advice he would surely
tell us that the gift of love will be remember far
longer and will make the greatest impact. In
looking for the perfect gift you might ask, How can I
give the gift of love this season? God gave us the
greatest gift of love when he sent his son to us to
teach us how to find a purpose for our lives, to
experience joy during times of trouble, strength in
times of turmoil, the ability to forgive those who have
hurt us, etc... Within his Word we can find the
answers to all of this. Jesus came to this earth
and suffered all that we suffer and then left us with
his Word so that we might live joyfully on this earth
and find eternal life through him. You have just
been given the greatest gift that one could receive for
within the pages is the answer to all life's troubles,
the key to abundant happiness, and a life of contentment
and hope for a better future.
It is written, that there
are many gifts but the greatest gift is the one of love.
How can we give the gift of love? We can sacrifice
our time and our own desires and make someone's day
great. When we put others first by doing simple
acts of kindness we change lives not only the lives of
others but ours as well.
1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now
abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest
of these is love." I pray that you will seek to
give and receive the gift of love this Christmas season
and through your faithfulness you might be blessed as
you enter into the new year.
